Vanderbilt football, Clark Lea lands BGA lineman Nate Fleming

Battle Ground Academy’s Nate Fleming flipped his commitment from Columbia to Vanderbilt football and coach Clark Lea, the BGA senior lineman announced on his X account on Oct. 12.

Fleming, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound interior lineman, is a three-star prospect ranked as the No. 47 player from the 2027 class in Tennessee, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Fleming is the son of former Vanderbilt star OJ Fleming and the cousin of former Tennessee star Troy Fleming.

OJ Fleming played for the Commodores from 1995-98 and spent 17 years as a teacher, administrator and assistant coach at BGA. Troy Fleming played for the Vols from 1999-2003 and played two season with the Tennessee Titans after being drafted (in the sixth round) by the franchise in 2004.

Nate Fleming had over 30 offers. Vanderbilt was his first from an SEC school.

Fleming is part of a high-scoring offense for BGA (6-1) as the Division II-AA No. 3 Wildcats chase a TSSAA football state title.
