Is Wan’Dale Robinson playing tonight? Giants WR and fantasy sleeper has empty half vs. Chiefs

Wan’Dale Robinson was a major pickup in fantasy football for Week 3.

And he had the exciting Sunday Night Football matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. His new fantasy football managers could settle in for an evening of watching their new star shine.

Russell Wilson even compared Robinson to his old Seattle teammate, Tyler Lockett. It was super high praise.

Only problem? Robinson didn’t have a sterling first half against the Chiefs. He hardly had a first half at all.

    Is Wan’Dale Robinson playing tonight?

Yes, Wan’Dale Robinson is playing on Sunday Night Football for the Giants against the Chiefs.

Wilson targeted him once in the first half, and he didn’t catch it, so statistically, he was shut out for a half of play against Kansas City.

The Giants trailed 9-6 at the half, and Malik Nabers also had no catches, having received three targets.

It’s a brutal start for Robinson and the whole Giants passing attack after Russ threw for 450 yards a week ago.

What jersey number is Wan’Dale Robinson?

If you’re trying to keep an eye specifically on Robinson, he wears jersey number 17.

Nabers rocks No. 1, and Darius Slayton is No. 18.

That standard trio has been out there early and often for the Giants.

Wilson just isn’t finding his top-two wideouts to make any noise.

  • Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb offer hopeful diagnosis for WR’s ankle injury

Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb offer hopeful diagnosis for WR’s ankle injury

Without CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys showed themselves to be completely ineffective against the a Chicago Bears squad who’s been hanging around the bottom of most power rankings.

The four-time Pro Bowler is trying to make sure he’s back in the lineup when a legitimate Super Bowl contender comes to town next weekend.

Lamb was hurt midway through the first quarter of the team’s 31-14 loss, with replays indicating an ankle injury suffered on a rare rushing play out of the backfield for the wide receiver. Lamb attempted to re-enter the game but was unable to continue; he finished the day with zero catches, just the second time in his career that has happened.

Per head coach Brian Schotteneheimer, Lamb sustained an ankle sprain, though it is not yet known whether it is of the low variety or the more serious high ankle sprain, which could keep require multiple weeks of rest.

Lamb is set to undergo further testing on the ankle, but he was not seen wearing any sort of boot or bracing device after the game went final.

After Sunday’s game, the 26-year-old told reporters he “for sure, absolutely” feels like he’ll be good to go in Week 4 when the Green Bay Packers visit AT&T Stadium in a Sunday night showdown.

“This was one of those protect-me-from-myself type of deals,” he explained.

Team owner Jerry Jones echoed that sentiment, saying that the injury is not as serious- or as long-term- as it might have looked at first.

“Let’s just keep our fingers crossed,” Jones added.

Though the Dallas offense had done nothing of note before Lamb’s injury, they were rendered thoroughly one-dimensional without him on the field. Quarterback Dak Prescott was rather accurate, going 31-of-40 through the air, but the attack managed just 5.9 yards per pass play. Tight end Jake Ferguson led the Cowboys with 13 catches for 82 yards; George Pickens logged five receptions for 68 yards and a score.

“You see what a difference he can make in a ball game,” Jones said of Lamb from the tunnel at Soldier Field.

The Packers certainly saw. And after a gut-wrenching loss of their own, Micah Parsons and the Green Bay defense will be licking their chops if it turns out Lamb can’t be ready to go Sunday night.

  • Jordan Davis’ transformative offseason yields big payoff as Eagles DT saves the day against Rams

Jordan Davis’ transformative offseason yields big payoff as Eagles DT saves the day against Rams

PHILADELPHIA — Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell knew his Philadelphia Eagles teammate Jordan Davis was fast, but not that fast.

“I think he hit like 14-15 mph,” Mitchell told Yahoo Sports postgame.

Davis actually reached a max speed of 18.59 mph after blocking a potential game-winning 44-yard Los Angeles Rams field goal and rumbling 61 yards for a scoop-and-score Sunday that helped shake a rocking Lincoln Financial Field in the final moment of a 33-26 stunner.

“18? God damn,” Mitchell said. “Yeah man, he was moving.”

So were the Eagles, who erased a 26-7 deficit with 26 unanswered points of their own. The final six were tacked on by Davis’ return, and in the process he staved off what might have been an uncomfortable week of discourse for the defending Super Bowl champions.

Davis, who’s in a contract year and shed 26 pounds from the end of last season to the start of this year’s training camp, ramped up to a speed no NFL player weighing at least 330 pounds has recorded since at least 2017, according to the league’s Next Gen Stats.

Mitchell added: “He’s always been fast. I mean, I think you’ve seen his 40-yard dash.”

It went viral in 2022, before Davis went from supersized Georgia Bulldogs backfield wrecker to Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick. But Mitchell misremembered the time his now-teammate ran at the NFL combine that year.

“He ran a 4.78?” Mitchell asked after he heard the three numbers again.

He did, and, according to Davis, he hadn’t ran that fast again until Sunday.

“Didn’t know I was going to go that fast, didn’t know I was going to make it all the way to the end zone,” the trimmer-but-still-mammoth-sized Davis said at the podium postgame.

Before that, it looked like Matthew Stafford was going to lead another game-winning drive. The Super Bowl-winning Rams quarterback is top five all-time with 49 of them, after all.

Stafford swiftly pushed Los Angeles into field-goal range, sucking more and more of the joy out of DeVonta Smith’s go-ahead, fourth-and-goal touchdown reception with every completion he made.

A 9-yard toss to Puka Nacua here, a 12-yard pass to Nacua there and then a 9-yard throw to fellow Rams wideout Jordan Whittington to top it off. Los Angeles was already in striking distance of reclaiming a defining victory early in the NFC playoff race.

The Rams could still avenge their NFC divisional-round defeat from last season. Kicker Joshua Karty had already made four field goals on the day.

Then again, he already had one blocked, too, a 36-yarder midway through the fourth quarter that was disrupted by Davis’ interior linemate and former Georgia teammate, Jalen Carter.

“A lot of people look at field goal block as just another play, just another down, put your hands up, get off the field, check a box,” Davis said after the game.

“But the way we talked about it on the sideline, especially after his last kick, we knew his angle. … And we just hit the gap, put our hands up at the right time, and then I seen the ball on the ground.”

In the game’s most critical moment, Davis did the honors.

He leapt, swatted the kick and followed the miss like a basketball player hunting an offensive rebound. Rams holder Ethan Evans tried to hop on it, except it squirted loose. Davis picked it up.

When asked about that moment, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni started playing back a memory from his first preseason leading the team. It was Aug. 28, 2021, and a scoop-and-score in the final minute gave the Eagles the lead, only to then afford the New York Jets enough time to tie the exhibition with a Hail Mary.

The backups were in. The game didn’t count. Sirianni remembers it, though. And he maintains that, in that type of “no mas” situation, it’s better to go down.

On Sunday, however, he made an exception.

“When there’s no time on the clock and there’s nobody out in front of you, I’m always OK with something like that,” he said.

Besides, there are more important things for him to teach on tape. The Eagles’ offense had its worst half of Sirianni’s tenure against the Rams in Week 3.

A unit coordinated by the already-scrutinized Kevin Patullo mustered a measly 34 yards over the opening two quarters. In that span, they had four three-and-outs that amounted to a combined -3 yards. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who came into the game averaging just 6 air yards per pass attempt, was 4 of 8 for 17 yards. Three-time Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Brown only had one target, after being targeted just nine times through the first two weeks. Smith, meanwhile, wasn’t getting much more attention with only two first-half receptions to his name.

If it wasn’t for Vic Fangio’s bend-but-don’t-break defense forcing field goal after field goal, the Eagles wouldn’t have had a chance to stage a rally.

Fangio’s defense was also responsible for a shutout in the final 29 minutes of game time that allowed Patullo’s offense to get its act together and, in Brown’s words, let it’s “killers do they thing.” Hurts finished with three touchdown passes. One of them went to Brown, and the game-winner went to Smith.

Without those two blocked field goals, there’s no Eagles comeback.

And without a fourth-and-1 tackle for loss in the fourth quarter authored by (who else?) Davis and Carter, there might not be an Eagles comeback, either.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had a front row seat to another dramatic blocked field goal touchdown return when he was at Penn State in 2016.

Cornerback Grant Haley collected the loose ball and ran it back 60 yards for a go-ahead touchdown against then-No. 2 Ohio State, at the time recording the school’s first win over a top-two team since 1990. Penn State went on to win the Big Ten that season.

When asked about that moment as well as Sunday’s, Barkley couldn’t pick between the two.

“I don’t know,” he said. “I really can’t compare those two, but me in the moment right now and just seeing JD striding down the field, that was pretty cool.”

Davis’ commitment to drop weight has already paid off. His teammates know it.

The 6-foot-6, 336-pound defensive tackle saved the day with a dream finish to what first looked like a nightmare in Philadelphia.

“Stuff like that matters. You never know,” Barkley said. “All the weight that he lost. He might not make that block last year. He might not make that play last year.”

  • Cowboys lose to Bears, fall to 1-2 with CeeDee Lamb injured and defense reeling

Cowboys lose to Bears, fall to 1-2 with CeeDee Lamb injured and defense reeling

All the Dallas Cowboys have to show for the first three weeks of the season is a high-wire win at home over the New York Giants.

The Cowboys traded Micah Parsons before the season started and not much has gone right since. The defense without Parsons got torched again by the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams. The offense couldn’t get anything going against a Bears defense that gave up 52 points last week and had multiple starters out due to injury, partially because CeeDee Lamb injured his ankle in the first half. The Bears won 31-14 for their first win of the season.

Williams had the best day of his career. He made some huge passes downfield and put up four touchdowns. It looked like Russell Wilson last week, when the Giants quarterback burned the Cowboys for 450 yards with numerous deep completions.

It’s just three games into the season but it’s getting harder to get excited about where the Cowboys are headed this season. It might be a good thing that Brandon Aubrey helped bail them out in an overtime win over the Giants last week, because it doesn’t appear that many more wins are coming their way.

    Caleb Williams has huge day

For the Bears fans waiting to see a breakout from Williams in Ben Johnson’s offense, the solution was easy: Face the Cowboys defense.

The game started poorly for the Cowboys. Rome Odunze got behind the defense for a 35-yard touchdown. That got Williams going.

Williams hit a flea-flicker touchdown to rookie Luther Burden III after that, then a touchdown to tight end Cole Kmet. Williams had 239 yards and three touchdowns in the first half. Given Johnson’s ability to call an offense and the talent around him, that type of explosion was possible for Williams. But it helped that Dallas was the opponent.

Williams got a fourth touchdown to D.J. Moore late in the third quarter and that put the Cowboys behind 31-14.

The Cowboys weren’t coming back from that, especially considering that Lamb was on the sideline.

    Cowboys miss CeeDee Lamb

Lamb went down when he got a carry out of the backfield and was dropped for a 1-yard loss. His ankle got rolled up on. He tried to play later in the half but limped off the field shaking his head.

The Cowboys better hope it isn’t a long-term injury because they don’t have much else around Dak Prescott. George Pickens caught a touchdown, but also had a bad drop in the fourth quarter that was picked off by the Bears before it hit the ground. It didn’t matter much with less than five minutes left, but on fourth-and-goal Prescott threw another interception into the end zone.

The Cowboys don’t have much hope on defense. The offense might not be much better if Lamb has to miss any additional games. It’s not even October yet but it already feels like it has been a long season in Dallas.

  • 49ers CB Renardo Green suffers injury in third quarter vs. Cardinals

49ers CB Renardo Green suffers injury in third quarter vs. Cardinals

Through the first two weeks of the 2025 season, the San Francisco 49ers have lost several offensive players to injury, including quarterback Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle and left guard Ben Bartch.

However, on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, it’s been the 49ers‘ defense taking the hits.

After defensive ends Nick Bosa (ruled out) and Mykel Williams (returned before halftime) suffered injuries early, 49ers cornerback Renardo Green went down with an injury following a hit on Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones after an 18-yard gain.

The team has yet to announce the nature or severity of the injury, but if Green can’t return to the game, San Francisco will be left with Deommodore Lenoir, Upton Stout and Darrell Luter Jr. as the starting cornerbacks and Chase Lucas as the only real backup. They could also continue using safety Ji’Ayir Brown in the big nickel role more frequently.

UPDATE: Green returned to the game later in the third quarter.

  • Schlotterbeck: “I worked hard for this for six months and am extremely happy”

Niko Kovac (to DAZN): “I’m delighted that we won, that it was a clean sheet and that Schlotti came through 90 minutes. We were fresh, we were energetic and we gave pretty much nothing away. The Maxi Arnold free-kick was, in my opinion, offside. We deservedly won the match; we would of course have liked to win by a greater margin against a good, structured Wolfsburg team. The lads are continuing to improve, even if there are setbacks from time to time. But we are consistently taking steps forwards. For me, it is important that players are healthy after an injury and come back fit. That has worked out brilliantly in Schlotti’s case. Compliments to the rehabilitation team. That’s how I envisage it going when a long-term injury absentee returns.”

Nico Schlotterbeck (to DAZN): “It was a long time and it was hard for me, challenging even, because it was the first time in my career that I was injured for so long. I have worked towards this match against Wolfsburg over the last two to three weeks. The coach asked me yesterday whether I was up for it and how much I could give. I said: Put me in. I worked hard for this for six months and am extremely happy. I tried to play the passes that I feel comfortable with. Friends and family are here. Now we will enjoy the evening together and tomorrow the focus switches to Mainz. Something good is building. Since we switched to a back three in the game in Leipzig, we haven’t lost a match. Had we not had those 10 minutes in St. Pauli, it would be four from four. Now we keep going step by step. The important thing is to keep up with Bayern.”

  • Brian Thomas Jr. comes up big late as the Jaguars send the Texans to 0-3 with a 17-10 victory

Brian Thomas Jr. comes up big late as the Jaguars send the Texans to 0-3 with a 17-10 victory

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Trevor Lawrence found Brian Thomas Jr. for a 46-yard gain, Travis Etienne scored on the next play and the Jacksonville Jaguars held on to beat the Houston Texans 17-10 on Sunday.

It was Jacksonville’s first win over the Texans at home since 2017. Houston had won 12 of the previous 14 in the AFC South series.

This one was decided on the final two drives.

The Jaguars (2-1) got a huge play from Lawrence to Thomas, a connection that has been mostly missing all season, and then the Texans (0-3) seemingly let Etienne score from 10 yards out with 1:48 remaining.

C.J. Stroud drove Houston into striking distance in the waning seconds, but Josh Hines-Allen tipped his pass and Antonio Johnson intercepted the wobbler to seal the victory.

The Texans can point to Nico Collins’ fumble as the turning point. Tyson Campbell knocked the ball out and it bounced into Devin Lloyd’s hands. It got Jacksonville headed in the right direction after a sluggish performance.

More drops and some boos for BTJ

Thomas was dealing with another miserable day before the long catch.

The second-year pro dropped three passes against the Texans, including one on a third-and-3 play that would have moved the chains in the fourth quarter. Thomas was roundly booed as he trudged to the bench and slammed his helmet to the ground.

Thomas also appeared to run the wrong route on a play in the waning minutes.

    Texans rookie struggles

Houston rookie left tackle Aireontae Ersery had his hands full against Hines-Allen all afternoon. Ersery, a second-round draft pick from Minnesota, allowed a sack, several pressures and was flagged for holding. He also was penalized 15 yards for grabbing cornerback Tyson Campbell’s facemask during a running play.

Hines-Allen moves closer to the franchise sack record

Hines-Allen picked up half a sack in the third quarter, leaving him two shy of breaking the franchise record (55) set by Tony Brackens in 2003. Hines-Allen has 53 ½ career sacks over seven seasons, including 17 ½ in 2023.

    Key injuries

Texans All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. left the game in the first quarter with an abdominal injury. He returned for the next series but ended up leaving the game for good. He was ruled out early in the second half. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson left the game briefly in the third but returned.

Jaguars receiver Dyami Brown injured his left shoulder while making a 1-yard catch in the third, ended up in the locker room and was later ruled out.

  • Asia Cup 2025: India and Pakistan do not shake hands again as Abhishek Sharma secures win

Asia Cup 2025: India and Pakistan do not shake hands again as Abhishek Sharma secures win

India and Pakistan’s players did not shake hands again as India comfortably won the sides’ feisty second meeting at the Asia Cup by six wickets in Dubai.

There were no handshakes when India beat Pakistan last Sunday – the rivals’ first meeting since the military conflict between the two nations earlier this year – which resulted in a complaint by Pakistan to organisers and doubts around their continuation in the competition.

Having both progressed to the Super Four stage, the captains did not acknowledge each other at the toss and the two teams did not shake hands after India cruised to a chase of 172 with seven balls to spare.

There were a series of heated flashpoints during the chase, most notably when the umpire had to step between opener Abhishek Sharma and Pakistan bowler Haris Rauf.

“The way they were coming to us without any reason I didn’t like at all,” Abhishek said afterwards.

“I just wanted to deliver for my team.”

Abhishek and Shubman Gill exchanged words with various Pakistan bowlers during their first-wicket partnership of 105 in 59 balls for the first wicket, which broke the back of the chase.

Gill made 47 and Abhishek 74 from 39 before Tilak Varma sealed the win – India’s seventh in a row against Pakistan across formats – with a six to finish 30 not out.

Earlier, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan hit 58 from 45 balls and celebrated his fifty by using his bat to mimic firing a gun.

India and Pakistan engaged in a four-day military conflict in April following a deadly militant attack on tourists in India-administered Kashmir.

Pakistan reached 91-1 after 10 overs and took 42 runs from the last three but, despite India dropping five matches, were punished for losing their way in between.

There was a run of 40 balls without a boundary during the middle overs – India seamer Shivam Dube particularly effective in taking 2-33.

Unlike after last week’s meeting when captain Suryakumar Yadav paid tributes to India’s armed forces, neither he nor Pakistan captain Salman Agha referenced the wider situation at the post-match presentation.

Pakistan play Sri Lanka on Tuesday, while India’s next game is against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

If they finish in the top two of the four-team group they will meet again in Sunday’s final.

  • Rams lead Eagles 19-7 at halftime

Rams lead Eagles 19-7 at halftime

The Rams are up 19-7 over the Eagles at halftime, but Los Angeles arguably should be up by more.

Los Angeles’ defense has been dominant, limiting Philadelphia to just 33 total yards and four first downs in the first two quarters. Jalen Hurts is 4-of-8 for just 17 yards, with Saquon Barkley totaling 13 yards rushing on seven carries.

A.J. Brown was targeted just one time in the first half and does not have a catch.

But on the other side, the Rams have squandered some opportunities deep in Philadelphia territory. Joshua Karty has hit all four of his field goals from 51, 28, 33, and 46-yards out. Quarterback Matthew Stafford tossed a 44-yard touchdown to Davante Adams late in the first quarter.

But the Rams are 0-of-4 on third down, which has limited the team’s opportunities. Stafford has missed a couple of third-down passes to Adams and Puka Nacua on third-and-short that would have extended drives.

In fact, there has not been a third-down conversion so far in the game, as Philadelphia is 0-of-6 in the category.

The Rams’ ground game has been dominant, with Kyren Williams rushing for 69 yards on 13 carries and Blake Corum netting 40 yards on six attempts.

But the Rams are 0-of-2 in red-zone efficiency, which is why the club has not gotten as much separation.

On the injury front, Philadelphia right tackle Lane Johnson is questionable to return with a neck injury. He’s been on the bench since being examined in the medical tent early in the first half but has not returned.

  • Eagles get away with ‘tush push’ penalty despite increased focus on play, score on next attempt

Eagles get away with ‘tush push’ penalty despite increased focus on play, score on next attempt

The Philadelphia Eagles were expected to face increased scrutiny on the “tush push” in Week 3, but the team got away with a penalty on their first attempt Sunday. The next play, the team ran it again, this time for a touchdown.

Facing a 4th and 1 at the 3-yard-line on the team’s first drive, the Eagles opted to run their favorite play: The “tush push.” Jalen Hurts managed to sneak the football over the first-down line, extending the team’s drive.

But it shouldn’t have gone down that way. The Eagles actually false started on the play, but it wasn’t called.

While missed penalties happen often, this one deserves increased scrutiny. Prior to Week 3, the NFL reportedly sent film to all teams, letting them know pre-snap penalties would be called tighter going forward. One of the examples in the video included a recent Eagles ‘tush push’ attempt that should have been flagged.

The missed call had major implications early in the team’s contest against the Los Angeles Rams. After converting on the 4th and 1, the Eagles ran the “tush push” again.

    This time, they scored.
