  • Lamptey suffers injury scare on full Fiorentina debut

Tariq Lamptey made his full debut for Fiorentina and it lasted only 22 minutes before he hobbled off with a knee injury against Como.

This was his second appearance in Serie A following the late transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion, as he had already played for three minutes off the bench during last week’s 3-1 defeat to Napoli.

He was launched into the starting XI of a new 4-4-2 formation this evening against Como at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

However, the match lasted just 22 minutes for the Ghana international, as he landed awkwardly after a jump and hyper-extended his left knee.

A product of the Chelsea youth academy, the right-back moved to Brighton in 2020 and was sold to Fiorentina for €6m on deadline day this month.

It is particularly worrying, as Lamptey had already struggled with a knee injury in May when playing for Brighton.

Cincinnati Bengals inactive players vs. Minnesota Vikings in Week 3

The Cincinnati Bengals entered Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings with two starters likely to sit on the inactives list due to injuries.

That x on the list of inactives the Bengals officially shared before kickoff:

    • Cam Taylor-Britt
    • Jermaine Burton
    • Tanner Hudson
    • McKinnley Jackson
    • Shemar Stewart

RELATED: Bengals’ Zac Taylor offers small update after Joe Burrow’s surgery

The Bengals ruled out first-round pick Shemar Stewart on the final injury report due to the ankle injury he suffered late in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Reporting around the injury makes it sound like he could be back next week, though.

Cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt carried a doubtful tag on the final injury report after suffering a hamstring injury during the first practice of the week. Fellow cornerback DJ Turner had a questionable tag due to a hamstring injury, too, though Bengals head coach Zac Taylor made it sound like he wasn’t too concerned.

Notably, Jermaine Burton remains unable to get off the inactives list

  • Georgia Bulldogs offer 5-star recruit Kaden Henderson

Georgia Bulldogs offer 5-star recruit Kaden Henderson

The Georgia Bulldogs and defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann have offered a scholarship to linebacker recruit Kaden Henderson, who is a member of the class of 2027. Henderson is ranked as a five-star recruit.

The elite linebacker prospect plays high school football for Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida. Henderson is the nation’s No. 2 linebacker in the junior class and is the No. 33 recruit in the country. Henderson is the fourth-best recruit in Florida, per 247Sports.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker recently announced his top 12 schools, but Georgia‘s scholarship offer could change that. The Bulldogs are the best school in the country at recruiting elite linebacker talent and should be a contender to land Henderson.

Among Henderson’s top 12 schools are powerhouses like Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon and LSU. Almost all of the best programs in college football are recruiting the Jesuit star.

Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia have the No. 2 recruiting class in the country. The Bulldogs have 31 total commitments in the 2026 recruiting cycle. There is still a long way to go for class of 2027 recruits like Kaden Henderson.

Kaden Henderson’s scholarship offer from UGA football

“Blessed to receive a offer from The University of Georgia,” Henderson said via social media after Georgia offered him a scholarship.

Georgia has two commitment in the class of 2027 in receiver Gavin Honore and cornerback Donte Wright. Georgia has the No. 16 recruiting class in the 2027 cycle, but it is way too early to pay much attention to that ranking.

McLaughlin-Levrone claims second world gold in relay

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone won her second gold of the world chanmpionships in Tokyo on Sunday, anchoring the USA team to a dominant victory in the 4×400 metres relay.

Double Olympic 400m hurdles champion McLaughlin-Levrone, who impressively won the 400m flat gold at these championships earlier in the week, put in a punishing last leg timed at a rapid 47.82sec to bring the USA team home in a championship record of 3min 16.61sec.

It beat by 0.10sec the previous best set by the United States in Stuttgart in 1993.

Jamaica claimed silver in 3:19.25, with the Netherlands taking bronze in 3:20.18.

Femke Bol, fresh from retaning her 400m hurdles crown and known for her fast finishing speed, was on the anchor leg for the Dutch team.

But she had been left too much to do and could only chase down the shadows of her hurdling nemesis McLaughlin-Levrone.

Botswana’s quartet of Lee Bhekempilo Eppie, Letsile Tebogo, Bayapo Ndori and the individual 400m world champion Busang Collen Kebinatshipi claimed a thrilling victory in the men’s 4x400m relay.

Kebinatshipi ran an impressive anchor leg, stealing the win in the final metres after running down American Rai Benjamin, the 400m hurdles gold medallist.

Botswana timed 2:57.76 to top the podium, with the US foursome taking silver 0.07sec adrift.

World 400m record holder Wayde van Niekerk ran the third leg to help South Africa to bronze.

  • Marvin Harrison Jr. start or sit: Week 3 fantasy football advice

Marvin Harrison Jr. start or sit: Week 3 fantasy football advice

Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will continue on Sunday with an NFC West showdown featuring the Arizona Cardinals visiting the San Francisco 49ers at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.

The Cardinals are off to a 2-0 start to the season and are coming off a 27-22 home victory over the Panthers last Sunday. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was quiet in the Week 2 victory and fantasy managers are certainly hoping for a step up in production during this divisional showdown.

Below, we’ll go over Harrison’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 3.

Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Harrison caught just two passes for 27 yards against the Panthers last week, generating a meager 4.7 fantasy points in PPR leagues. As a top-20 wideout in ADP entering the season, his numbers have been slightly underwhelming through two weeks as the second-year receiver has been targeted just 11 times with a target share of just 20.37%.

The former Ohio State star isn’t sweating it though and called criticism of offensive coordinator Drew Petzing a “silly conversation”, emphasizing the fact that the Cards are 2-0 with a chance at taking an early lead at the top of the NFC West standings. We’ll see if he’ll get more looks on the road this week.

Start or sit in Week 3 PPR leagues?

Sit. Harrison may not be concerned about his production, but fantasy managers should be. He’s going on the road to face a 49ers pass defense that has been excellent through two weeks, boasting the league’s best defensive passing EPA at -0.27. Go with an alternate option as your WR2 and sit him for this week.

Start or sit in Week 3 standard leagues?

  • Stuttgart bosses reflect on the competition between Andres and Karazor

Chema Andres makes his starting debut for Stuttgart on Friday’s win against St. Pauli. The Real Madrid loanee was one of the best players on the night, which could make it difficult for Atakan Karazor to win back his place right away.

Stuttgart’s captain was a late substitute in their second home win of the season. Following the game, Sebastian Hoeneß and sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth were asked questions about the two players.

“Ata (Karazor) has behaved professionally,” said the coach. “He received the decision very well. His behavior was as you might expect. That was a top reaction.”

Wohlgemuth also stressed Karazor’s stance at the club in an interview with Bild. “Ata has been one of the essential pacemakers in the sporting upward development of the team in the last two years. There is no fundamental doubt about his qualities.

“But he must try to fight his way back into the starting eleven during the training week. This was a decision that came about because of the evaluation of the last matches.”

Stuttgart will kick off their European campaign on Thursday against Celta Vigo, before traveling to Köln for their next Bundesliga fixture.

  • Arsenal loanee makes 8 saves on senior debut

Arsenal’s Lucas Nygaard made his debut for Brabrand IF on Saturday, making eight saves but still ending up on the losing side for his loan team.

Lucas Nygaard moved on loan from Arsenal to Danish third-tier side Brabrand IF over the summer, but he had to wait a little while for his debut. The goalkeeper made his first appearance in the Brabrand squad at the start of this month, but he remained on the bench for the first couple of games.

That changed on Saturday, with Brabrand manager Michele Demontis naming Nygaard in his starting lineup for the first time for a game against Skive IK.

Nygaard played the full 90 minutes of the match and made eight saves, but he ended up on the losing side anyway.

Photo via Brabrand IF on Instagram

Skive’s first goal came after one of those Nygaard saves, with the goalkeeper palming out a shot only for Anders Faester Jensen to turn it in on the rebound.

There was nothing Nygaard could do about the second, with Frederik Sloth getting a free run onto the ball in the centre of the penalty area with no defenders in position to make a block.

The Arsenal goalkeeper will perhaps feel more disappointed about Skive’s third goal, with the low shot from outside the box finding the net despite not quite being in the corner. But with Brabrand conceding so many shots, it was inevitable a few of them would go in.

Even before Nygaard’s debut, Brabrand went into Matchday 8 having conceded more goals than any other team in the league. They probably need more than just a good goalkeeper.

On a more positive note, Nygaard has now made his senior debut in professional football, and there should be more to come over the coming months.

  • Revealed: Why Barcelona star will not attend 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony

On Monday, France Football will host the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony in Paris, and Barcelona will be present. The Catalans have many numbers up for a variety of awards, although not all of their nominees will make the trip.

Pedri, who has had an outstanding 12 months in terms of performance levels, has agreed with Barcelona not to attend the ceremony, with Sport reporting that he is prioritising proper rest amid a tough schedule for Hansi Flick’s side.

    Image via Rafa Babot/Getty Images

Furthermore, Pedri believes that he is not in contention to win the award, which is also the case for Lewandowski – Barcelona’s two main contenders are Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, with both players likely to make up the podium with Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele. For him, this is another reason that he has decided not to attend.

It makes sense for Pedri not to go, given that he is not a realistic candidate to win the Ballon d’Or – and especially since he will likely be a starter – injury depending – when Barcelona face Real Oviedo on Thursday, less than 72 hours after the ceremony in Paris. The same can also be said for Lewandowski, who has had a slow start to the new season after picking up an injury during the summer.

It will be interesting to see how Barcelona’s nominees get on during the Ballon d’Or ceremony. As well as Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Pedri and Lewandowski, they have a number of personnel up for other awards, including Flick with the Coach of the Year.
